Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) Origination

Neuro Linguistic Programming emerged in the year 1970s when Richard Bandler and John Grinder came together to understand human behavior.

How did it happen?

Let me tell you the process which John Grinder and Richard Bandler used is known as Modelling. Modelling in NLP means:

  • Unconscious assimilation of information by modeller
  • Replicate the same patterns in a similar context
  • Receive the results

So what do you think whom did they model? Extraordinary people in the industry of change:

  • Virginia Satir
  • Milton Erickson
  • Fritz Perls

I would like to tell you that “Gregory Bateson” offered a lot of encouragement, support, feedback, and interests. He introduced them to Milton Erickson! Such was his interest as he wrote for them in the book “Structure of Magic” and states “NLP trainers John Grinder and Richard Bandler” have done something to what my colleagues and I attempted fifteen years ago.”

What do you think they must have done? What specifically did they do while “unconscious assimilation” and learn from the model?

Well, they did Micro Muscle Mirroring and Matching

What Can it do?

It can do what you want literally. I have personally used it with many IT & HR Professionals, Trainers & Coaches, Doctors, Lawyers and almost with all types of professionals and they have achieved massive results with respect to change in their behaviors.

This concept has become famous and it has been discovered that it can be used at all places, work, family, relationship, children, achieving goals, achieving harmony, finding clarity inside and outside, healing, overcoming fears, anxiety, OCD, body pain, mental disorders, emotional disorders, stammering, paralytic conditions and many more. Definitions of Neuro Linguistic Programming

There are many definitions of NLP, some of them which I know are:

  • Neuro Linguistic Programming is a science, art, and technology.
  • It is a study of human behavior.
  • A study of excellence.
  • The structure of subjective experience.
  • NLP is knowing how we organize our perceptions through the language of the mind to create our reality.

NLP Terms:

Neuro: Neurons in your mind which is processing a billions bit of information inside your brain which is mentally filtered at the first access through your Senses – VAKOG – internal images, sounds, tactile awareness, internal sensations, tastes and smells that form as a result of the neurological filtering process.

Linguistic: Post the processing, we give meaning to what we experience, internally and externally. We use natural language to express what we experience based on our mental maps.

Programming: The response subsequent is the program that we are providing to the outer world. This program has been used multiple times and became a trigger as a conditioning program.

NLP Modelling

Do you know, Neuro Linguistic Programming began as a means of modelling excellence with “NLP Modelling”

And then had a subset of NLP training and as a result of the training, NLP Application emerged.

“The point which I want to make here which has been discussed in the seminars/training with John Grinder is that there is a need for more research, more work, and NEW Modelling process work so that a new pattern work can emerge!”
